WCT Group was first established with the incorporation of WCT Earthworks & Building Contractors Sdn Bhd on 14 January 1981 and subsequently changed its name to WCT Berhad (“WCTB”). WCTB was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities and was one of the FBM100 Component Stocks before the WCT Group undertook an internal reorganization in the year 2013. Following the successful internal reorganization of WCT Group on 8 July 2013, WCTB had transferred its listing status on the Main Market of Bursa Securities to WCT Holdings Berhad (“WCTH”) (Company No. 930464-M). Consequently, the WCT Group’s various business operations have now come under WCTH.

WCTH is an investment holding company with an investment in two main subsidiaries, WCTB and WCT Land Sdn Bhd which are primarily involved in engineering and construction, property development and investment & management activities.

What challenges were you trying to get Openminds HK to solve?

Social media is the most common way to do promotion. We want to promote our shopping mall through social media. We need someone to manage our social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, etc. We contacted a couple of agencies to attend our pitching session in Malaysia. Finally, Openminds Resources successfully received the job.

Please describe the solution that Openminds HK provides in detail?

We provide them the details and information about our malls, and then we have a monthly meeting with Openminds Resources. Openminds Resources report to us. Also, we will discuss the upcoming plan in our mall with them so that they can plan the upcoming monthly online marketing activities. Instead of monthly meeting, email and Whatsapp group are also our communication channels. In case of emergency, we immediately discuss through Whatsapp or email.

How did you come to work with Openminds HK?

We invited some agencies to come to our pitching session in Malaysia. Openminds Resources is one of them and we eventually hired them.

What is the status of this engagement now? For how long?

It's still ongoing. Started in 2014.

Could you share the results from this service?

In this project, we focus on engagement, not generating sales. We receive a very positive engagement rate on social media. It helps in branding.

What distinguishes Openminds HK from other providers?

During the pitching session, agencies shared their idea with us like what they would do to promote our shopping mall and how they make use of social media. Compared to others firms we invited, Openminds Resources has the background in managing social media assets for shopping malls. So we hired them.

Is there anything Openminds HK could have improved or done differently?

They need to follow the updates of shopping mall and social media. Up to date, we are satisfied with their performance and Openminds Resources are capable of keeping up with the trend.

Our company, Robert Bosch, is a German multinational engineering and electronics company headquartered in Germany. It is the world's largest supplier of automotive components, industrial products and building products.

What challenges were you trying to get Openminds HK to solve?

It was a discussion back in the year 2014. I was involved in seeking quotation and quality vendors.

Openminds Resources were working on social media activities for my colleagues in Malaysia in 2014. We heard Openminds Resources from my colleagues. We found that they are capable of building a mobile app, then we started a discussion with them. After the discussion, we appreciate their best quotation and quality. Therefore, we hired them.

Please describe the solution that Openminds HK provides in detail?

Jan and Jeffrey are our points of contact. They handled the project and the entire development. They recommended some excellent idea. As we clearly knew what we wanted in the project, therefore they assist more in the development area rather than consultation. We appreciate that they are quite responsive, typically get back in 24 hours and fix all the problems. Quick manner fixing the reported issue. We appreciate it.

From our colleagues in Malaysia.

What is the status of this engagement now? For how long?

It is still an ongoing project. They are responsible for part of the project, particularly the IT area. For example, we are still paying for maintenance and server cost since 2015.

Could you share the results from this service?

We have 100,000 members in this program. All of the users are business users. Also, Openminds Resources is going to receive a new project with Bosch in Germany.

Openminds Resources keep themselves up-to-date. They used latest technologies and programming language like Python. They are fast in adopting new technologies.

Is there anything Openminds HK could have improved or done differently?

No. We appreciate them. Usually, they come up with 2 to 3 choices for a problem, give us lot of options to stay flexible with our need.
